Information and communication technology (ICT) have become an important tool in the development and advancement of information technology since the nineteenth century through the path of the digital revolution. In order to advance its development and progress in Bangladesh, it is of utmost importance to join the digital revolution and use of ICT. This is reflected on the eve of the national elections on December 29 December 2008. On 12 December 2008, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the leader of Bangladesh Awami League, announced the "Rupkolpo 2021". Digital Bangladesh are made up of its main livelihood. The main objective of implementing Digital Bangladesh is to advance the commitment to establish democracy, good governance, transparency, accountability, justice and corruption free society.
Implementation of e-governance by ensuring and coordinating the use and application of ICT in all Government Departments / Institutions at the Upazilla level. Establishment of the Sheikh Russell Digital Lab-centered ICT Club, established in the educational institute, to raise awareness and provide necessary consulting services to ICT members and to encourage freelancing by club members conducting training on ICT.
Also, establishing good governance and establishing a corruption free society by establishing e-governance by delivering all kinds of government services to the doorsteps of the people at one instant.
The main goal of Digital Bangladesh is to achieve the desired success in the SDG indices by 2031, and to enter the developed state by 2041 and establish a state of knowledge-based sustainable economy.
